Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Dhaka to brief Bangladesh’s leadership on the nuclear deal

Dr. Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid courtesy calls on the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and briefed them on different aspects of the nuclear deal concluded between Iran and E3/EU+3 earlier in July.

The top Iranian diplomat further expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to enhance relations with Bangladesh in all areas and called for the removal of obstacles in the way of mutual trade. Emphasizing the development of bilateral relations between Iran and Bangladesh, Iran’s Foreign Minister said that Iran’s energy sector can be a reliable source for Bangladesh.

In a separate meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on the same day, Zarif pointed to the vast potential for promoting economic relations.

In Bangladesh, Zarif also hailed the friendly relationship between Sunni and Shia Muslims in the South Asian country as an ideal example.
